Every year the freshmen take part in a robotics and engineering seminar class during the third trimester of school. Today was THAT day. You know, the day that robotics starts. It's very exciting, especially since my partner in crime and I are streamlining the project based manner in which we are approaching things this year. It should be a great, student driven, exciting way to engage the kiddos in their own educational goals.
Wish us luck!

It'll Soon Be Spring...
Recently I've been thinking about spring and planting. I honestly can't wait to go out and grub around in the dirt. Inside my classroom, there are already sprouts of yummy things like squash, sugar pumpkins, petty's, and carrots. My students and I have had a tremendous time planting and preparing for spring.
Now, with the snow that came yesterday it looks like we'll have to wait a little longer. I guess that's life in New England.

Spring is in the air!
It seems like yesterday that we were suffering under two feet of snow. October seems short for winter. Now, it's a balmy 60 degrees out and I'm ready to plant. Since I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, I've decided that my students can be best served by a combination of Professor Snape and Professor Sprout. I love them both! While the main lesson today was examining the correlation between climate and location (water versus land), secondarily we planted our starter seeds in preparation for the garden project I'll be starting in about a month.
I'm very excited because I get to do what I love and get paid :)
